Studies show that the color red brings forth passion, power, and confidence—so why do many women tend to shy away from it? Although nowadays red is still seen as a passionate color, many women may not know the theory behind red.
The Psychology Behind Red
It’s suggested that whenever a woman wears red, she is giving off a signal of passion, power, and homemaker energy. One reason being: most memories of red nail polish are associated with childhood memories of a boy’s mom or teacher, as red was the go-to back in the day—hence one of the reasons why red is a classic color.
My Red Nail Experiment
Unbeknownst to me, being aware of this particular theory recently, I went to my nail appointment. The color red has been my staple for some time now—only this time I got acrylic nails 💅🏽. If you know anything about acrylic nails, they’re very attractive. Guess what color I got? Yep, you guessed it—red!
I usually like to treat myself to something to eat after sitting in the chair for so long, as these nail appointments can leave you a bit famished. As I was walking into the restaurant, not even two minutes passed when a tall 6-foot-2 gentleman approached me, asking me if I would be up for further conversation. He even asked me if I was on the phone as I was approaching the line, lol.
Although at that present moment, the only thing I was thinking about was getting food into my belly, I think it’s safe to say there is some validity towards the red nail theory.
