Say Yes to Yourself—Your Nervous System Will Thank You

Have you ever stopped to think about why your nerves get rattled when you’re not even doing anything? This could be a sign that you’re tired of being tired. Whenever you’re not being completely honest with yourself, your nervous system will start acting up. Why? Because your feelings matter. What you want out of life, believe it or not, is important—no matter what the naysayers will have you think. Your dreams are valid.
Think about it: how can you live a fulfilling life when you’re not being honest with yourself? This could be a major roadblock when it comes to moving forward in your life.
A Simple Practice That Changes Everything
One of the things I find helpful whenever I find myself in a place of confusion is this: I go outside and take a 20 to 30-minute walk. Studies show that when you go outside and walk, your nervous system becomes calm—not to mention the fresh air does wonders.
A lot of times, a change of environment helps shift your mindset, enabling you to receive clarity and giving your spirit a clear path to receive what God is trying to tell you. See, when we’re not ready for the next big leap forward, we tend to hold ourselves back—hence nervous system issues. Walking will help you see things from a completely different perspective.
Your Invitation to Peace
So the next time you’re feeling anxious, go out and take a walk. You’ll feel better. And remember: The Creator God is on your side.
Hugs,
Elizabeth
