Reclame your health – change what you conume

When managing uterine fibroids, what you avoid eating can be just as important as what you include in your diet. Certain foods may contribute to inflammation, hormonal imbalances, and conditions that allow fibroids to thrive. Understanding these dietary triggers empowers you to make informed choices that support your body’s natural healing processes.

Midlife Cosmetic Shift: Reclaim Your Power 💪

Midlife Cosmetic Shift: Reclaim Your Power 💪

What you eat can change your life. This isn’t just a catchy phrase—it’s a truth that millions of Black women are discovering as they navigate one of the most challenging health issues of midlife: uterine fibroids.

The Silent Epidemic 🩺

Every day, millions of Black women are diagnosed with fibroids, often left feeling lost, empty, and unsure of where to turn. Uterine fibroids—benign tumors that grow in or on the uterus—affect up to 80% of women by age 50. Yet despite all our medical advances, Black women are disproportionately affected by this condition.

I know this struggle intimately. Just shy of my 40th birthday, I found myself in a cold, white hospital room, only to be told practically nothing and sent on my way. Frustrated and desperate for answers, I was forced to do my own research. After many late nights searching until the early morning hours, I started to realize: if I wanted change, I had to make the changes myself.

Check out Episode #255 to discover the life-changing things I implemented to see lasting results.

Why Are Black Women More Affected? 🤔

Reclaiming Your Inner Goddess in Your Silver Years 🌸

Reclaiming Your Inner Goddess in Your Silver Years 🌸

This week I wanted to share a couple of things that I’ve been loving for the last cauple of month.  Now that I’m in my 50s, I’ve come to realize there are certain things that I no longer really turn to when it comes to fashion. Short shorts or short skirts haven’t been my vibe pretty much, for the most part at least (lol)—not because of age.

This winter  I’m looking forward to implementing more dresses and pencil skirts. Pencil skirts are so sexy; I love how they hug the hips and show off a woman’s shape, especially if you’re more of a pear shape like myself. It’s amazing how they look on the body. I’m 5’8″, so a pencil skirt has always been flattering on me. It’s an oldie but goodie. When I was working a physical job, I would wear these types of skirts most of the time.

Save by the 🔔: The Gift That Costs Nothing

Save by the 🔔: The Gift That Costs Nothing

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and NYC is one of the places where many people from around the world come to visit and participate in the holiday cheer. Unfortunately, with prices going sky high, many people will not be able to visit this year—leaving loved ones behind and saddened due to non-participation in holiday traditions.

My Favorite Childhood Memory 🚗✨

One of the things I loved most as a child was taking a ride in my dad’s old Cadillac. He would take us on short rides throughout neighborhoods to see Christmas lights—oh, what a wonder! Especially when those neighborhoods were, well, let’s just say more affluent, to say the least.

Spending time with my dad was the gift. I loved seeing his face as he cheerfully cruised past the neighborhood—it makes me wonder if he himself was dreaming of what it felt like to live in one of those houses. Afterwards, we would head back home, but not before getting White Castle as he would shout to us in the back seat as we cheered.

Create Memories That Last Forever 💜

Make memories this holiday season that don’t cost you a thing. Your loved ones will thank you for it, so one day they too can look back and have fond memories of their own.

Hugs 🤗

THE END!

Let Live and Move Out: The Secret to Freedom 🌺

Let Live and Move Out: The Secret to Freedom 🌺

Millions of women today are holding on to a little secret—and the funny thing is, most of them don’t even know it.

It’s called freedom: freedom to move, freedom to think, freedom to set themselves free from old belief systems. The thing is, most are unaware of this secretive thinking. Think about the last time life started to get stressful—what were some of the thoughts you had? I’m sure you wouldn’t dare disclose them, not even to your pets, in case they looked at you strangely.

One of the things I’ve come to understand over the decades of working with women is that women generally love to change their minds—no shocker there. I believe a woman’s mind is like a garden full of beautiful meadows of flowers with bunches of weeds within patches. Like anything else, if not attended to, they too will wilt and die. This is why I believe women suffer with depression and anxiety at a higher percentage rate than men.

Have you ever heard the old phrase: “A woman is like a flower 🌺—she has to be poured into and needs sunlight”?

Simply put, in order for a woman to feel cherished, she needs love and attention. The next time you feel stuck, ask yourself: When was the last time you poured into your own garden? You’ll be surprised what you come up with. Self-care is never selfish. Hugs! 💜

Holiday Cocktail Survival Guide 🍸

Holiday Cocktail Survival Guide 🍸

Are you weary and suffering from last night’s holiday party? With the holiday season asking women to turn left and right, what are women to do? The kids are awaiting their parents and family coming to town, as well as having to gift that co-worker their favorite color for this year’s Secret Santa gift—it can all have you feeling a bit overwhelmed. All this does is have you waking up feeling hung over with puffy eyes. Here are some tips that I’ve used over the decades that have proven useful time after time.

1. Sleep In

I know everyone would tell you otherwise, but it’s true—there’s no use pushing your body more than you should. Giving yourself extra sleep will help not only your mood but also help alleviate tension in your body.

2. Say NO

Hey, it’s okay—you don’t have to do it all. Saying no shows that you are human; it also helps you uphold boundaries. The more you exercise your right to say no this holiday, the better you’ll feel.

3. Move Your Body

Last but not least, work out sessions. I know it could be hard to move your body, but if you want to not feel like a sumo wrestler is laying on top of you, moving your body is key. And let’s face it: as the aging process happens, the recovery time is longer. Moving your body will help move those muscles, signaling those blood vessels to your heart and brain that, hey, we have things to do. Not to mention you’ll look amazing in that outfit you have picked out this holiday.

Conclusion

The holidays are stressful for many reasons, but it doesn’t have to be so. Let’s tip our glasses for choosing us—choosing ourselves this holiday. Hugs! 💜

How to Stop Being Left Behind When Others Say You’re Too Old

How to Stop Being Left Behind When Others Say You’re Too Old

Women across the world who find themselves in midlife are asking, “What’s the next chapter of my life going to look like?” These are usually the kind of women who are successful—those who were blessed to raise their kids while pursuing high-paying careers, or those who were fortunate enough to marry young and helped their spouses reach successful careers while they stayed home to take care of the kids. These are the type of women who are the backbone of society. But what happens when they find themselves in midlife?

Nowadays, women are taught that you are only as lovely as your waistline is small—go figure. How is it that with all the success women have achieved, we are still being held back by these outdated beliefs?

If you find yourself caught in some of these traps, here are some key steps that will free you from the grip of thinking your value is only as precious as your body type:

1. Stop Trying to Be Like Everyone Else

The big picture

 “The big picture”  –

🌸You are exactly where you need to be. 🌸

In a world consumed by social media comparisons and endless noise telling you that you’re not enough—not pretty enough, not smart enough, not successful enough—this blog is your reminder that it’s all bullshit.

Before the age of social media, people relied on something far more powerful: their imagination. They didn’t wait for validation from strangers online. They moved forward with their dreams despite the doubters.

Think about Thomas Edison, who was called crazy for trying to change the world with his inventions. Thank God he believed in his work—otherwise, we’d all be stumbling over our cats in the dark! Or Harriet Tubman, who risked everything to lead enslaved people to freedom through the Underground Railroad. She was terrified, but she moved forward anyway. Continue reading “The big picture”

Three Reasons Why Homemade Chicken Soup is Good for You!

With the holiday in toe its;  cold season is in the air- believe  home made soup

can help sooth any cold let along heal the heart; one of the things I looked

forward to have as a young girl; was my mom’s soup; she would take the time

to perfectly spread crackers around the bream od the said of the bowl; What

are some of your founders memory  of having a bowl of soup?

Three Reasons Why Homemade Chicken Soup is Good for You

  1. Boosts immune system and fights inflammation: Homemade chicken soup contains nutrients from the chicken bones, vegetables, and herbs that have anti-inflammatory properties. The amino acids released from bone broth, particularly cysteine, help thin mucus and support immune function, making it a powerful remedy during illness.
  2. Provides essential nutrients and hydration: Rich in vitamins (A, C, K), minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus), collagen, and protein, homemade chicken soup nourishes your body at a cellular level. The warm broth also helps keep you hydrated, which is crucial for overall health and recovery from illness.
  3. Supports gut health and digestion: The gelatin and collagen from slow-cooked chicken bones help heal and seal the gut lining, promoting better digestion and nutrient absorption. This gut-healing property makes chicken soup especially beneficial for those with digestive issues or leaky gut syndrome.

Why Chicken Soup is Good for the Soul

Beyond its physical healing properties, chicken soup nourishes the soul

through comfort and connection. The act of making soup—chopping

vegetables, simmering broth, stirring with intention—is a meditative practice

that grounds us in the present moment. When we’re sick or struggling, a warm

bowl of homemade chicken soup carries the energy of care, whether made by

our own hands or by someone who loves us. It reminds us of being cared for as

children, of family traditions, and of the simple truth that nourishment is an act

of love. The warmth soothes not just the body but the spirit, offering comfort

during life’s cold and difficult seasons. Chicken soup feeds us on multiple

levels—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—making it true soul food in every sense.
