A new day is ahead

Some days it can feel like life has given up on you—like the strength to keep moving is running out. If that’s where you are right now, hear this truth: God has not forgotten you, and your story is not over.

God’s Word says, “His mercies are new every morning.” (Lamentations 3:22–23) That means today comes with fresh mercy, fresh strength, and fresh hope.

Social media is loud. It can make the “real world” feel lonely—like everyone else is living and you’re just trying to survive. It makes you ask, What is the real world anyway? And more importantly: Whose world am I supposed to believe in?

Here’s the answer: The world changes, but God does not.Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

I remember being in grade school and hearing, “Use your imagination.” But nobody warned us that adulthood would try to shame that imagination—like dreaming is childish, and creativity has an expiration date.

But that message is a lie.

You were created to create. You were made to dream, build, and become—because you were made in God’s image. “So God created mankind in his own image…” (Genesis 1:27)

When God made you, God put purpose inside you. Scripture says, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” (Ephesians 2:10)

And yes—this matters for mental health, too. When we stop ourselves from becoming who God designed us to be, we start to feel stuck, heavy, and disconnected. But God doesn’t leave us there. God invites us to be renewed from the inside out:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

As a child, one of the notes that kept showing up on my report card was: “Elizabeth daydreams… and she talks too much.” I guess some things never change—lol.

And you know what? Maybe they shouldn’t.

Because God didn’t create you to shrink. God created you to shine.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

So the next time someone tells you to stop dreaming—or to turn your back on what God placed in your heart—remember this:

  • God gave you those dreams for a reason.
  • God can guide you step by step.
  • And God can do more with your “little” than you can imagine.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20)

Keep going.

A new day is ahead.

Hugs,

Elizabeth
