Stay in good cheer—even when everything looks like it’s not working

Stay in good cheer—even when everything looks like it’s not working

Because life will test you. Technology will act up. People will disappoint you. Plans will shift. And you’ll have a choice in that moment:

Will you let it steal your joy—or will you stay rooted?

I’ve always been the type to walk into a room with good energy—“Good morning,” “How are you,” a little kindness, a little warmth. And someone once asked me, “Does it bother you when you don’t get that same energy back?”

And it made me pause—because sometimes we don’t realize this:
We can start giving from a pure place… but if we’re not careful, we can slowly slip into giving to be accepted.

And that’s where people-pleasing can creep in.

Here’s the truth:

Sometimes what you’re looking for from others is actually what you need to give yourself.

And sometimes the way people respond has nothing to do with you—people project what’s happening inside of them.

So if someone is cold, rude, or dismissive, it doesn’t automatically mean you did something wrong. It may simply mean they’re carrying something you can’t see.

Be kind—but don’t chase a response

I want you to stay genuine. Stay loving. Stay upbeat—because that’s who you are.

But also remember:

It is not your responsibility to manage other people’s mood.

It is not your job to perform for approval.

You don’t have to shrink, over-explain, or over-give just to feel chosen.

A reset for the week: choose how you want to show up

Since we’re heading into a new week, I want you to do something simple:

Get a piece of paper and ask yourself:

“How do I want to show up this week?”

Not for them—for you.

Maybe your list is short:

  • Get dressed each day like you matter (because you do)
  • Drink water
  • Go for a morning walk
  • Stretch
  • Say your affirmations
  • Pray
  • Journal
  • Take care of your hair, your skin, your spirit

Because when you pour into yourself first, your cup doesn’t run dry—your cup runs over.

And I know a lot of women are walking around like an octopus—doing everything, carrying everybody, holding the world together… and then wondering why there’s nothing left by the time you get to yourself.

You’re not “too sensitive.” You’re not “not a people person.”

You’re tired. You’ve been overextending. And you’re allowed to come back home to yourself.

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready

This is your reminder: it’s not about when it’s going to happen.

You’re preparing because it’s already in motion.

So step into this week with good cheer.

Step into this week knowing you are on the right path.

Your voice matters. Your presence matters. Your consistency matters.

And if you stay faithful and keep showing up—this time next year, I declare you will look different, sound different, and be different.
