Start Where You Are, With What You Have
Before we begin, I give all honor and glory to God. Thank You, Lord, for another day.
Happy Thursday, family. I pray you are well, protected, and in great spirits.
Today I want to share what has been on my heart:
You can start right where you are, with what you have.
So often we focus on what we cannot control, or on what is not working. But what about what is in your control?
Right now, in this moment, you have the power to take one step forward with the resources already in your hands.
And here is something I need you to remember:
If an opinion does not resonate with you, you do not have to accept it.
You are allowed to choose what aligns with your spirit and your purpose.
This message connects to an article I shared on my blog, Elizabeth Magical Garden. All links will be in the description.
David and Goliath: Use What Is Already in Your Hand
In Scripture, we learn about David and Goliath. Everyone was terrified of the giant, and no one wanted to face what felt impossible.
But David stepped forward with what he had:
- A sling
- A stone
- Faith in God
David did not wait until he had “better tools.” He trusted God, used what was already in his hands, and moved with courage.
God can use what you already have.
Your “Giant” Might Look Different
Your giant might be:
- Fear
- Addiction
- Procrastination
- The belief that it is “too late” to change your life
But I truly believe this:
When you decide with your whole heart, “I am no longer that person,” your life begins to shift.
I have seen it in my own life. I once had a cigarette habit, and I quit cold turkey the day someone told me, “Your angels cannot reach you through all that smoke.” Whether it was literal or not, it woke me up.
I chose my blessings over my habit, and I never looked back.
A Word for Women in Midlife
If you are in your fifties, sixties, or beyond, and you feel like your best years have passed, I am here to tell you that is not true.
You have wisdom. You have experience. You have survived things that someone else is just beginning to face.
You have something to offer.
Three Takeaways
- Move forward with courage, even if you only have a little to start with.
- God can use the gifts and tools already in your hands.
- Faith grows stronger when you keep moving forward.
And listen, this is not about convincing naysayers.
Bless them, and make space for the people who are saying “yes.” Do not hold a seat for someone who does not want to be in your life.
