Simone Says Yes! Choosing Yourself in a World That Says Otherwise

Simone Says Yes! Choosing Yourself in a World That Says Otherwise

🌸Elizabeth Magical Garden🌸

Have you ever thought to yourself why so many people are eager to follow what everyone else is doing? As human beings, we are naturally drawn to coupling up—after all, the old saying goes “we’re stronger in numbers.” But what about being solo? Is there harm in being single?

The New Era of Self-Priority

In today’s society, many women are choosing to build their careers rather than starting a family. Dating has become a cesspool of survival, especially for women who have already taken that route. Women today are choosing themselves rather than being attracted to someone else simply for the sake of not being alone.

In an age where everything one could ever want is at your fingertips, women are choosing their careers and building their own ecosystems. Gone are the days where one has to solve problems alone—with technology, the answers are at your fingertips. Continue reading “Simone Says Yes! Choosing Yourself in a World That Says Otherwise”

Act: Choosing Kindness Over Reaction

The Last Act: Choosing Kindness Over Reaction

What would you do if someone told you “No”? Would you react defensively, or would you move forward and exercise your faith? Most people would rather push their way through when it comes to the things they want or believe they should have, and in some cases this may be a good alternative—but not so much when dealing with people. As the old saying goes, “there’s more than one way to skin a cat” (although I must say I’m not too proud of that statement, being a cat lover myself). The point I’m making is that kindness will get you much further than rudeness.

One day I was short on cash and had to be somewhere quickly, so I went to the store where I knew an ATM was provided for customers. I have to admit I don’t regularly go to an ATM—I prefer to go to the bank, not only because it’s safer but also because you don’t get hit with ATM fees. As I was fumbling with the machine, a woman behind me spoke in a, well, not-so-kind voice, asking me if I was using the machine. Clearly I was using it—everyone in the store looked up as her voice projected throughout the space.

Everything You Need Is Already Within You

Everything You Need Is Already Within You

What if I told you that everything you’ve ever wanted is already inside of you?

Many people operate under the false notion that they need to study for years on end to be successful. Don’t get me wrong—education is definitely a powerful tool to have. I believe in higher education. But what I’m discussing here is something much deeper: an inner knowing of what you can become, if only given the chance.

From the time you were born, you were programmed to become who you are right now. Think about it: your parents told you what to eat, how to speak. Then you went to school and they told you how to think. You really never had a choice or the time to find out who you truly are.

In a world that is always evolving, it’s pretty safe to say we as a society are confused.

So how do you reclaim your power when everything and everyone tells you otherwise? Continue reading “Everything You Need Is Already Within You”

What About the Old You? Embracing Your 2026 Transformation

What About the Old You? Embracing Your 2026 Transformation

Whenever self-development becomes your priority, major changes start to happen. You start to witness life from a different lens. This can leave many put off by your newfound knowledge of self. Why? Well, for one, you are no longer the pawn in someone else’s story.

The Threat of Your Growth

Most people can feel threatened, even resentful, of you taking the initiative to make yourself a priority. Life is full of challenges—but 2026 is your year to shine brighter than you have ever done before. You’ve been in the tunnel, digging yourself out of a tomb you found yourself in.

No more are the days of selfless acts where you sacrifice your own wants or needs. 2026 is your year of redemption.

Your Circle Will Reveal Itself

Some will cheer you on, and some will hate you. And well, the others will fall in line. Why? Because you are an asset! Anyone who has taken the time to invest in themselves becomes a valuable presence in any space they occupy.

When you commit to growth, you naturally elevate. Your energy shifts. Your standards rise. Your boundaries become non-negotiable. And not everyone will be comfortable with this version of you—and that’s okay.

The people who truly love and support you will celebrate your transformation. They’ll see the light in your eyes returning, the confidence in your voice growing, the peace in your spirit deepening. These are your people.

The ones who resist your growth? They’re revealing where they are on their own journey. Their discomfort isn’t about you—it’s about what your transformation reflects back to them about their own stagnation.

Fine-Tune Your Way of Thinking 💭

Fine-Tune Your Way of Thinking 💭

Hey, we are all oppressed—say the thoughts that come to the brain of a healthy thinker. Millions of people are proving to themselves that they are right to let go of the thought of becoming something grand or better, in whatever version they believe they once were able to achieve. This is one of the reasons why I believe people are sometimes threatened by others when they see someone close to them achieving their dreams. No one wants to look through a glass mirror only to see a reflection they’re not familiar with.

Last year I took up ballet 🩰. Of course, I already had in my mind that I was a prima ballerina—I bought the tights, leotards, cute little skirts. I even bought a ballet bar so I could practice. I realized pretty early in the game that I was going to have to get in shape in order to have my toes do any type of pointing. I watched countless ballet training videos, only to realize my dream of becoming a prima ballerina at the age of 52 may be only realized in my head.

Lighthouse: Following Your Path

Lighthouse: Following Your Path

Have you noticed that whenever you are presented with an opportunity to broaden yourself, there comes resistance? This is not a coincidence—this is your brain trying to protect you. Your brain doesn’t know the difference between good or bad when it comes to you achieving something new. All it knows is that this is a new experience you are attempting, which is unfamiliar to your brain. So how do you continue?

Taking Small Steps Forward

Studies show that when you take reinforced baby steps towards your goals despite those reluctant thoughts, you allow for the gradual ease of comfort. It’s not to say fear will totally subside; as time goes by, the push and pull will slowly move towards motivation.

My Personal Experience

This is something I’ve noticed whenever I started a new workout routine. At first, the feeling of being overwhelmed starts to manifest within my body. As I push through the new routine, something happens: I start to get not only comfortable, but a sort of excitement starts to happen. It’s not to say I’m doing the moves perfectly—my confidence starts to arise, enabling me to have a better workout experience. Something I don’t think would’ve happened if I gave into the fear.

Fear as a Guide, Not a Barrier

Remember, fear is part of you acknowledging that the path you’re on should be studied, yes—but not necessarily the road you shouldn’t take. So the next time you find yourself moving towards a new path, whether it be starting a new business or a new workout regime, step back, breathe, and remind yourself this new path is a good thing.

Move forward—you are the light the world needs.

Hugs,

Elizabeth

You Have the Right Mind to Learn: Reclaiming Your Thoughts in a World of Manipulation

You Have the Right Mind to Learn: Reclaiming Your Thoughts in a World of Manipulation

Have you ever walked into a department store and noticed the music playing unusually loud? It’s not by accident. Studies show that many retailers use music strategically to subconsciously influence you to buy more. This is one reason why the holiday season is such a massive money-maker—festive music triggers emotional responses that lead to spending. The music industry knows this too, which is why there are countless holiday songs designed to tap into our emotions and memories.

Every day, millions of people are told what to think and how to think, especially when it benefits someone else. It wasn’t until I started practicing mindfulness that I began to notice this pattern in human behavior. Everyone is trying to get what they want; unfortunately some form of manipulation is often involved.

I remember as a kid, whenever I didn’t want to eat something, I was told, “If you want to grow up and be big and strong, you have to eat this.” Or one of my favorites: “Oh my, can you do XYZ for me please? Because you do it the best!” Sound familiar?

Here’s my point: You don’t have to fall for it any longer!

You have the ability to stand firm and say, “No, thank you,” despite what others would have you think or do. You are always the main character of your story. Being okay with being the “villain” in someone else’s story will not only free you from the anxiety of pretending to be something you’re not, but you also owe it to yourself to stand tall while living a purposeful life that you created for yourself—one you can be proud of.

The next time you find someone else behind the glass screen of your life, take a step back and make sure it’s you behind that screen. Reclaim your thoughts. Reclaim your power. Reclaim your story.

You got this!

Hugs,

Elizabeth

Nervous System Reboot: Getting Back on Track in 2026

Nervous System Reboot: Getting Back on Track in 2026

As the year progresses, most New Year’s resolutions tend to sway to the wayside. This can leave you feeling depressed or even anxious. Approximately 80% of New Year’s resolutions are abandoned by mid-February. Why is that?

I believe this happens because systems are not put in place. As the saying goes, “Not preparing is preparing to fail.” With everything asking for your attention, it’s no wonder you barely have time for a cup of coffee, never alone a sensible meal

Here are some things I believe will help put you back on track, allowing you to

get back into that lovely dress you bought that wasn’t on

sale—purchased with the belief you’d be shedding those

stubborn menopause pounds:

1. Set a Time for Your Last Meal of the Day

This will eliminate those late-night snacks before bedtime. When you establish a clear boundary around eating times, your body begins to regulate itself more naturally. Your nervous system learns when to expect nourishment and when to rest.

2. Brush Your Teeth After Dinner

This has been a game changer for me! Not wanting to deal with the hassle of flossing and brushing again helps keep me from those late-night snacks. It’s a simple psychological trick that signals to your brain that eating time is over for the day.

3. Keep Your Workout Clothes Close

Place them right next to your bed—yes, even on your nightstand if needed! The less you have to think about in the morning, the better. Having your gym attire close by makes getting ready much easier, allowing less resistance when it comes to keeping up with your workout routine.

The Confidence Connection

I believe when we make our routines a priority, we also acquire self-confidence. Each small win builds momentum. Every time you follow through on a commitment to yourself, you’re sending a powerful message to your nervous system: “I am reliable. I keep my promises to myself.”

Your nervous system craves consistency and predictability. When you establish these simple routines, you’re not just working toward physical goals—you’re creating a foundation of trust with yourself that ripples into every area of your life.

Keep going. You got this.

Hugs,

Elizabeth

Would You Bet on You?

Would You Bet on You?

Whenever someone is asked who their biggest supporters are, most would say a close family member or friend—if you’re lucky, you could say both. But the real question is: Would you bet on yourself?

Think about that question for a minute. How does it make you feel?

This is a question I’ve confronted myself with many times. Most times, it was a hard yes. But as time progressed and my goals became bigger, that pit in my stomach started to grow. The question echoed louder: Would you bet on you?

As I sat with that question, a faint, distant voice said YES! Yes to the dream that once seemed impossible. Yes to all the times I looked the other way, fearful of acknowledging the painful truth: “No one is coming to save you.” This is a fact.

You too have that same voice, that hunger inside you that can no longer be Continue reading “Would You Bet on You?”

What Happens Now? The Art of Receiving in 2026

What Happens Now? The Art of Receiving in 2026

Congratulations, you made it! 2026 is your year to shine, give, and—here’s the important part—receive.

Many people experience discomfort with receiving. Research shows that when it comes to accepting kindness, compliments, or positive energy, we tend to deflect rather than embrace.

Think about it: Someone says, “I love that dress!” What’s your instinctive response? Probably something like, “Oh, this old thing? I’ve had it for years.” Instead of simply saying thank you and allowing yourself to receive the positive energy.

I struggled with this for years—until I started playing a little game that became a complete game changer.

The “I Receive That” Practice

Whenever someone pays me a compliment, I now take a moment to truly hear the words. I pause, allow myself to receive what the other person is offering, and then I say: “I receive that” or “I receive your kind words.”

Here’s what this simple practice does:

  • It gives you the opportunity to practice mindfulness
  • It allows you to examine and internalize the words you just received
  • It helps you conclude for yourself that this is a good thing
  • It builds confidence and trust
  • It shows genuine gratitude, which people deeply appreciate

The Power of Perspective

Most people have been taught to be humble to the detriment of themselves. But here’s the truth: when you perceive something to be good, your mind and body will more than likely receive it.

Think about it this way: When you’re working out and see a bottle of water, you see it as a good thing. That’s one reason you’re more likely to drink water in that moment than if you were sitting at your desk. It’s all about perspective.

Your Challenge for 2026

The next time someone says something kind to you, take a few minutes to internalize their words. Remember: You have the power to receive or deny something.

Make 2026 the year you say “YES” to yourself.

Hugs,

Elizabeth
