The Spoken Word: Why What We Say to Ourselves Matters

The Spoken Word: Why What We Say to Ourselves Matters

Hi, I’m Elizabeth from Elizabeth Magical Garden, and welcome to this today’s reflection.

Before we begin, find a comfortable spot. Maybe you want to be in your room, sitting down or laying down. Take deep breaths. Ease yourself into the relaxation of understanding that you’re safe. This is your moment to reflect on what is most important.

The Power of Our Words

Today, I want to speak about the spoken word and why the things we say to ourselves can be harmful—or healing.

Let’s start with scripture from Matthew 12:36-37 (NIV):

Matthew 12:36-37 (NIV) “But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

When you hear this, how does it make you feel? How did the word “condemned” sit with you? Did it make you nervous? Did you feel a particular pain in a particular area of your body?

Words are powerful.

I believe that God wanted to emphasize our ability to create life or death within the word. When God created the world, He spoke life into it. He said, “Let there be light.”

Light is what is within us. Love is within us. And our ability to focus and bring back thought into the words we profess can change our lives.

A Poem from Maya Angelou

I’d like to share a poem from Maya Angelou:

“Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning.” — Maya Angelou

I believe that we have the ability to not only speak life, but to change our lives through the spoken word.

Words That Heal

Here are a couple of affirmations that I believe will set you on the healing path:

  • “I am worthy.”
  • “I am blessed.”
  • “I am capable.”
  • “Thank you for this healing rest.”
  • “Thank you, God, for this new beginning.”

You Have the Power

You have the power to change your life, and it starts now.

Be mindful of the words you speak to yourself. They shape your reality. They create your world.

Until tomorrow, stay blessed. ✨

When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Praying

When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Praying

Hey there! I’m Elizabeth. You may know me from Elizabeth Magical Garden podcast or my YouTube channel, Elizabeth Magical Garden. Today, I’d like to break the ice, so to speak.

What Do You Do When Life Gets Hard?

What do you do when the going gets tough? Do you scream? Do you shout? Do you go out and punch something?

For me, I like to go to the gym and let it all hang out. No, really—I like to stretch my limbs as far and wide as I possibly can. Boy, does it feel good!

Anyway, the point I’m trying to make here is this: many people start to feel as if life is closing in on them due to their inability to see past the present pain they are experiencing.

You’re Not Alone in Feeling Hopeless

Millions of people are feeling hopeless due to what life has been presenting to them, amplified by what they see on screen.

But what if I told you it’s all a hoax—it’s not true? Stay with me here. Keep reading and bear with me.

What If We Looked Inward Instead?

The world, as we know it, is going through mighty changes, to say the least. But what if every human were to stop focusing on what they see on the outside and, well… started looking inward?

What do you think the state of the world would be in? Would there be more peace? Would things feel and appear calmer? Continue reading “When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Praying”

Faith: Choosing to Believe Despite the Doubt

Faith: Choosing to Believe Despite the Doubt

I’m pleased to say that we are here, and I’m excited about today’s reflection. My name is Elizabeth from Elizabeth’s Magical Garden—here is where we release today.

This evening, I wanted to discuss something with you: faith.

Before we start, be sure to have some tea, a warm beverage, or any beverage of choice. Allow yourself to take in the words that I’ll be sharing this evening.

Faith is something that allows us to see and hope for the things that are not yet seen, right?

Faith isn’t the absence of doubt. It’s choosing—choosing to believe despite the doubt.

Faith isn’t waiting for perfect conditions. It’s stepping forward even when you’re scared. Something that can be very scary when you think about it.

In Hebrews 11:1, it says: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

See, when we choose to have faith, we choose to realize that God has already planned our steps. You have the ability to bring into fruition the things that you’ve been waiting for. The things that you’ve been praying for. The things that you’ve been longing for.

You have the ability to bring it into existence. And have it. Yes, and have it in this lifetime.

So where you are right now, take a deep breath.

And with that breath, envision yourself having that thing that you’ve been praying for.

And with that exhale, release fear. Release the doubt that’s been plaguing you from realizing that dream.

Today, choose faith. Choose hope. Choose to believe that God is working all things together for your good.

Be sure to check the links down below so you can receive your free gift that will further allow you to have the tools that you will need so you can proceed and live a wondrous, prosperous life.

Until next time, my friends.

Stay blessed. Stay in peace. And stay empowered.

Peace.

Hugs, Elizabeth
