Why Stay In When You Can Go Out?

Why Stay In When You Can Go Out?

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why you do the things you do? Or better yet—what causes you to do them?

This is a question I’ve been asking myself a lot lately.

Most days we wake up, get out of bed, brush our teeth, make the bed, pour a cup of coffee—and rush straight into the day without even thinking. We’re always racing toward the next goal… only to find ourselves already focused on the next big thing before we even finish the one we’re working on.

And then something happens.

The very thing that once put a sparkle in our eyes starts to feel heavy. We feel miserable. Resentful. Burnt out.

Why is that?

Why does life start to feel like a roller coaster when we’ve always been told to “take it easy” and “enjoy life”—but the world keeps preaching the opposite? With hustle culture at an all-time high, it’s no wonder so many people feel lost, exhausted, and disconnected.

But today, my friend, is your lucky day—because I truly believe I’ve found a powerful source of peace.

Before I share it, make sure you check out my podcast: Elizabeth Magical Garden—where you’ll be encouraged, inspired, and uplifted.

Okay… so what are we supposed to do in a world that feels so loud? I mean truly—how do we quiet our lives enough to function, breathe, and actually live with peace?

I have one word for you:

Zen.

I know, I know—you might be thinking, “Elizabeth, be serious.”

And I am serious.

So serious that I bought a book on this exact topic called A Cup of Zen—a book full of simple, thought-provoking words you can read with your morning coffee. (That’s what I do, and I love it.)

But here’s what I’ve noticed: this book—and so many other books that talk about peace—always come back to the same truth:

Peace lives in your heart.

Peace is found when you slow down enough to notice the small things.

Like:

feeling the breeze on your skin

getting up early and going for a walk or run before the world gets noisy

spending time in nature, even for a few minutes

It sounds simple—but don’t underestimate it.

There’s something powerful about stepping outside in the morning. It’s good for your mind, and it’s good for your nervous system—something I believe we could all benefit from right now.

If you want peace…

If you want healing…

If you want to feel loved and grounded again…

Try this: incorporate at least one “Zen act” every day.

Do it for 90 days, and watch what happens.

You may be surprised how much joy, calm, and clarity starts coming back into your life.

Hugs,

Elizabeth
